he show’s Hall 1 was open to all visitors, and showcased exhibitors
ranging from event planners and infrastructure specialists, to event décor
experts, caterers, and corporate and promotional gift providers. Hall 2, or
the ‘Reseller Zone’ was the trade-only, reseller-focused part of the show,
featuring stands from the country’s leading corporate and promotional brands,
with the best in clothing, bags, umbrellas, and promotional and corporate gifts,
amongst other products.
The opening day started with a bang, with the Zinto flash mob, which energised
visitors and exhibitors alike, greeting arriving delegates. ‘It was also clear that
our new, stronger focus on content paid off, with jam-packed sessions at both
the free-to-attend seminars and the Unique Speaker Bureau (USB) theatre,’ said
Joshua Low, event director at Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery. You can view
the flash mob on the following link:
‘There were a number of sessions, including the South African Mobile Marketing
Association’s head of training and education, Candice Goodman’s presentation
on the top 15 marketing trends for the year, and the address by Department of
Trade and Industry’s (DTi) chief director of agroprocessing, Unati Speirs, on the
department’s Incubation Support Programme (ISP), that completely packed out the
presentation areas, with delegates crowding outside the venue to listen in. The
USB speakers, including Michael Jackson, Debora Patta and Vusi Thembekwayo,
never fail to thrill audiences and were another real draw-card to the show.
