Edge Communications celebrates 10 years by giving 10 local businesses a marketing boost

Edge Communications is celebrating its 10th birthday this year by giving back to the community that has supported its journey. As part of its 10-year milestone, the Pretoria-based communication and marketing agency is launching 10 Years. 10 Businesses. 10 Stories. It is a community-focused campaign that will give 10 selected local businesses practical marketing and communication support to help them grow, become more visible and tell their stories well.

The public is invited to nominate small, hard-working businesses in Pretoria that have heart, potential and a genuine need for support, but may not currently have the budget for professional marketing and communication services. The campaign forms part of Edge Communications’ 10th birthday celebration and reflects the agency’s gratitude for 10 years of blessing and grace.

‘Edge Communications has experienced the Lord’s blessing and grace over the past 10 years, and we wanted to celebrate this milestone in a way that does more than simply mark the occasion,’ says Daleen Gouws, founder and managing director of Edge Communications. ‘We wanted to use the skills, experience and creativity in our team to support businesses that are working hard, serving their communities and carrying real potential, but may not yet have the resources to invest in proper marketing.’

Through the campaign, the Edge Communications team will select 10 businesses and assist them with basic communication and marketing tools. Support may include social media guidance, graphic design, photography, video, website input, messaging, media relations and other practical tools to help these businesses become more visible, professional and memorable.

According to Gouws, many local businesses have strong products or services, but struggle to communicate their value clearly. ‘Small businesses keep families going. They create jobs. They serve communities. They bring life to local economies. But many of them simply do not have access to the kind of marketing support that can help them grow,’ she says. ‘With 10 Years. 10 Businesses. 10 Stories., we want to help 10 of these businesses be seen, heard and remembered.’

The campaign will also be documented through video and social media content, giving the public an opportunity to follow the stories of the selected businesses and see how practical communication and marketing support can make a difference.

Members of the public can nominate a business by sending the business name, location, contact details and a short motivation explaining why the business should be considered.
