Oxigen announces sponsorship of Prince’s Grant National Amateur Invitational Tournament 2017

Brand Communications and Sponsorship Management agency, Oxigen, has announced its sponsorship of the annual Prince’s Grant National Amateur Invitational golf tournament which took place from 1 to 3 May 2017 at Prince’s Grant Coastal Estate.

Founded to foster support, coverage and the opportunity to compete for amateur level golf in South Africa, the Prince’s Grant National Amateur Invitational (PGNAIT) – now in its 11th year – attracts some of South Africa’s most talented amateur golfers. The PGNAIT consists of a challenging four-round tournament which tests both the ability and endurance of young, up-and-coming golfers as they play Prince’s Grant’s challenging and immaculate Peter Matkovich designed course.

Past PGNAIT winners include recent Alfred Dunhill Cup winner, Brandon Stone and Luke Jerling who won the 2016 tournament. Top upcoming players have also participated in this prestigious tournament including the likes of Aneurin Gounden who trains at the Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation and tied for fourth in the 2016 tournament. Global stars such as Jbé Kruger, Brandon Grace and Haydn Porteous have also won the tournament on previous occasions.

Having already represented Prince’s Grant Coastal Estate under the Brand Communications division for the past year, Oxigen’s Founder and Managing Partner, LJ Swart, said that the sponsorship was a strategic move by the agency. ‘As a sponsorship management agency there is no stronger way to prove our expertise in this space than by sponsoring an event of this size ourselves. Oxigen has always been close to large scale sport events that have the ability to raise the profile of certain sports in South Africa. This is something that our team is passionate about.’

Since concluding the title sponsorship, Oxigen has secured additional sponsors for the event including Entrawood and The Eighteenth Apartment development, among others.

Truly putting South Africa’s golfing talent on the map, Oxigen has secured live streaming of 2017 PGNAIT by David van der Sandt which allowed viewers from across the globe to watch the event live.
